Students work in pairs to create a home for the neighborhood. Through the role-play of characters they’ve created, students discuss families and neighborhoods from their own perspectives. Objectives, review questions, and synthesis activities are included.
Students visit colonial America by conducting historical research and becoming experts. Students work in groups and partners, talking about their discoveries with their peers. Then they communicate and act upon their new learning. Pretest, group work rubrics, and assessments included.
Students form a community and role-play characters to understand viewpoints regarding land use and the resource allocation. Students reflect on events out of role to examine and understand situations from their own perspectives. Objectives, review questions, and synthesis activities are included.
