Dimension 1

Developing Questions and Planning Inquiries

In the first dimension of the C3 framework, students are taught how to construct both compelling and supportive questions that  help tie content together and determine what is a useful resource.

Dimension 2

Applying Disciplinary Tools and Concepts

This dimension provides the backbone for the Inquiry Arc. Students work with both compelling and supportive questions to determine the content needed for developing inquiries.

Dimension 3

Evaluating Sources and Using Evidence 

Helping students understand how to properly gather and evaluate sources to use as evidence is a central feature of Dimension 3. Students will be able to construct and support evidence-based claims.

Dimension 4

Communicating Conclusions and Taking Informed Action

A variety of communication methods are encouraged in Dimension 4, such as discussions, essay writing, debates, plus much more. Students are able to implement these methods while working individually, with partners, and in groups, which creates readiness for college, career, and civic life.
