Lasting Legacies focus in on events from different time periods and their impact on the future.

Fifth graders focus on the history of the U.S. in the context of geography, learning skills and concepts such as:
- Learn to use an atlas effectively
- Become familiar with the fundamental themes of history and geography
- Become familiar with basic concepts in other areas of social studies, such as economics and sociology
- Apply these themes and concepts to the study of our country’s history
- Complete timelines
Turnkey and Cross-Curricular
Engaging activities guide fifth graders in focusing on every aspect of their atlas to learn about historical events.
Activities take 15–20 minutes and can be rearranged to match your curriculum, making it easy to incorporate social studies into instructional time.
Literacy lessons are designed to build ELA skills and concepts—such as critical thinking and in-depth analytical skills—in the context of social studies.
